Areas of Expertise

Counseling & Psychotherapy

I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Acceptance
Commitment (ACT) and Somatic Therapy practices to help adolescent and adult individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, past trauma, grief, and loss.  I believe in serving persons of any race, sexual orientation, gender identity or faith.

With its beginnings in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on healing modality that works with the soft tissue structures of the body and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the head and the base of the spine.  These structures and fluids protect, support, and nourish the brain and spinal cord.  This therapy focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body.  It stems from osteopathy, which is an approach that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease.

Energetic Healing

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Yoga and Meditation Instruction

Yoga incorporates pranayama (breath), movement, mantra, and meditation.  Although the exact origins are uncertain, yoga is believed to have been developed in ancient India.  The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body.
